Beautiful Sunshine

It's finally warming up, so I spent the afternoon at the park with some cute kiddos and their mom and dad :)
Payton was able to climb up the tire "thingy" all by himself....
He was quite proud :)

A little nervous on the monkey bars...
The wind loved her hair :)
Beautiful mommy of these two cuties
(also my sister... and my only blog follower, Hi Jas)
Thought she could climp UP the slide :)
I really enjoyed getting outside to take some pictures. Now I'm even MORE excited for the months ahead!

The Beauty of Black & White

There's something beautiful...
...about a photo...
...changed to black & white.
In my opinion...
...it adds a whole new feeling.

This past Friday was a very exciting day for me! Not only did I have my first real photo session with my new camera, but it was my first newborn session. I learned so much and had a great time. My good friend, Christina, came along to shoot with me. Her and her husband are also getting involved in photography so it was great to work with her and learn from her as well! So enough babble.... here's the little sweetie!

Meet Crete... only nine days new

This session was harder than I anticipated, but I loved how much I learned. I realized I need to check my settings throughout the whole shoot, not just set them at the beginning and go. Positioning and moving him was tough, but now I have a grasp on little tricks to make it smoother. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I can't wait until the next newborn (or any age for that matter) session that comes my way!

My Oh-So-Smart Hubby

Hello again! This will be a quick one since I have three ginormous basketfuls of laundry to fold... blah! I'd rather be doing this.... :)

The other day I was playing around with my camera (which is a very common part of my day) and....

took this photo of our lovely piano.
I was rather proud of it.... not boasting and shouting from the mountains proud... but proud enough to put it as our desktop background. *When you don't have kids... and have 12 nieces and nephews to choose between... you have backgrounds like this! ha...*

The hubby liked it and that made me happy :) Who doesn't like your husbands approval on something??

Well... When I got home from work today, he didn't stall too much before making sure it's known he also took a piano picture today.

But he didn't just take a picture... He grabbed our full length mirror, and bounced the light shining in from our window, onto the piano.

Wowzers!

I was impressed.

(The only thing I wasn't sure about was the top left corner, which he said was a light reflection. I think it looks like he got his finger in the way.... which I KNOW isn't true. Still think it might need edited out.)

Today was tough for me in a way. I love photography. I think we've already established that.

My husband also loves photography.... And he's very talented. And it comes pretty natural to him.

He says this whole "piano picture taking thing" should be a friendly competition to stretch each other.

I suppose.... :)

In all seriousness, I love that he loves photography and has a good eye for it. I definitely look forward to learning together and teaching each other new things. What a team we could make!

And now I will carry a full length mirror with me every where I go! :D

Now onto that laundry....
